I’m Cristian F. Rubio Aguiar, an Electronic Engineer and Software Engineer passionate about robotics, space technology, and backend development. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Software Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes while working as a Software Engineer III B at Ubidots.

What I Do

My work focuses on building robust backend systems and exploring the intersection of robotics and space technology. I’m particularly interested in:

• Backend Development: Building scalable systems with Python, Django REST Framework, and PostgreSQL
• Robotics & SLAM: LiDAR-based mapping, autonomous systems, and ROS
• Space Technology: Contributing to space radiation research and participating in space-related challenges

• Honorable Mention in NASA’s Pale Blue Dot Visualization Challenge (2024)
• Research intern at Deep Space Initiative, focusing on Space Transportation Systems

• Published research on LiDAR odometry and mapping techniques at IEEE CCAC 2021
• Participated in JAXA/NASA Kibo Robot Programming Challenge
